The Oak Grove Historical Society had their May 16, 2009 meeting hosted by Rex and Karen Findley at their home for a potluck dinner at 6:00 pm. Their home is the former Dr. Frick's home. Members and guests enjoyed a wide variety of good foods and conversation.
Marcia Hord explained the application for 501C Status. There will be a $300 fee for the application. She will proceed to complete the 32 page form and addends to be submited to the IRS for approval. If approved, they will assign a tax identification number so those donating will be able to claim a tax deduction for their donation. Karen Findley will assist in completion of the application.
